What We Do

HOPE FOUNDATION IS A REGISTERED NOT-FOR-PROFIT CHARITABLE ORGANISATION, AND ALL DONATIONS OVER $2 ARE FULLY TAX DEDUCTIBLE.

Outreaches

We currently hold 2 outreaches every year, Valentines Day and Christmas in July, for the ‘overlooked’ women of Brisbane.  Primarily those affected by drug addiction, sex industry and homelessness. These events are hosted and provided for by Christian women around Brisbane.   At these events the guests are pampered, fed, blessed and loved.  It is an amazing opportunity to see heaven on earth. They are inter-denominational outreaches that see the volunteers almost as blessed as the guests.  For more information please phone Bronwen Healy on 0433 170 263 or email through the contact us page on this website. Schools Program

EVERY CHOICE HAS A CONSEQUENCE: The HOPE FOUNDATION team is strongly committed to the growth and freedom of the next generation.  One of the ways in which they serve them is by taking their home-grown program into high schools (public and private) around Australia.  The kids respond to their personal stories about their own lives and then they are challenged to grow into their own dreams and purposes.  They are then shown practical ways to make positive choices.  If you are interested in finding out more details please contact THE TEAM on 0433 170 258 or email  admin@hopefoundation.org.au

Public Speaking

The HOPE FOUNDATION team currently do public speaking within different sectors - raising awareness about the ministry and they are also available and willing to do preaching and teaching within church settings.

Networking

The HOPE FOUNDATION also desires to network within the churches and the community to ensure that their ministry is always about kingdom business.  They currently are closely linked and network with doctors, counsellors, churches, job and housing networks, detox and rehabilitation facilities.  They believe in partnering to see people discovering their purpose, identity and dreams fulfilled.

Prayer Support

The team are more than willing to provide prayer support with a willing and able team of praying people.  They see this an incredibly powerful tool in seeing freedom come and needs met.  Call 1300 HOPE4U (467348) or Click Here to submit a prayer request.

Practical needs met

We are dedicated to helping our target audience by helping them meet their practical needs - food, toiletries, clothing, toys for children, support and encouragement.  Please contact 1300 HOPE4U  (467348) for more details on how we can help!

Vision casting

Drop in centre  - OUR GREATEST NEED....

The Centres will provide follow-on assistance for all of the women that respond positively to the outreach events.  As an indication, at the Valentines Day 2006 function, 120 volunteers cared for 85 guests.  42 of these women indicated they would like specific follow-up care to alleviate themselves from their present distress and suffering.

The Centres will provide a safe place where individuals who fall within the target group can come and have a home-cooked meal, a shower, a rest, talk to a helper and feel loved.

The Foundation aims to provide somewhere safe for these people to go and provide an environment where individuals feel they can trust the people that work or volunteer with the Foundation.  Until residential programs are in place the Centres intend to provide an atmosphere individuals can leave knowing they are welcome to return at any time.  Consideration will need to be given to the availability of these centres for those who are in a drug induced state and the affect this could have on other individuals attending the centre at the time.

The aim of these centres is to create recognition of each person's personal value and worth.  The Foundation intends to do this by:

In time, services may also involve live-in 'house parents' that live at the Drop-In Centres to provide maintenance, upkeep to the property and to be at the Centres when needed by individuals.

Residential Care program/Rehabilitation Centres

Residential care programs will follow on from the drop-in centres.  The Foundation will provide housing and practical care to people of any age wanting, or needing, to rehabilitate from drugs or exit the sex industry. Individuals will be directed to doctors who can treat them for obvious medical needs, including addiction issues which can be treated safely with trained carers willing to support them through the detox and rehabilitation process.

The Residential Care program will equip individuals with the necessary life skills such as hygiene, self-care, cooking, cleaning and occupational skills to find their way back into society with ease.  This will be reinforced by a Christian program that will help guide each individual to wellness and wholeness by demonstrating their worth and by helping to give them the tools to renew their minds, find freedom from their pasts and release them into their futures.   The key to this part of the program is the willingness and commitment of each individual.  Each person must want to come to the Foundation for guidance and help.  We believe that in time, by word of mouth and positive results, individuals will want to come and change their life permanently. The Centres will teach, train and equip individuals with all the skills they need to become a benefit to society.

Consultancy work

The primary purpose of the consultancy work will be to raise awareness of the Hope Foundation and the work it provides.  Through providing consultancy sessions we will train other people on how to work with this particular target audience and those suffering who require guidance.  We are willing to train and equip other people that are wanting to work with this target group by showing them what we do and how and why we do it.

Other care methods

As a secondary aim we intend to provide over the phone care, enabling those suffering to converse with trained individuals about their troubles.

To help those in distress we intend on having pairs of individuals travel to others homes when required.

We strongly believe that follow-up sessions are essential to successfully help the target group achieve their goals of rehabilitation.  We want to make volunteers, our workers and ourselves available to meet the needs through practical care and over the phone prayer when necessary.  This service will occasionally be available to loved ones and friends who have been affected by the lifestyle choices of the people that we work with.
