Hope On The Streets
HOPE ON THE STREETS is Hope Foundation's 'street outreach' recommencing mid-January 2010 in Brisbane. In June 2009, the Hope Foundation were the proud recipients of a $50,000 grant from the Lord Mayors Community Trust (LMCT) - this gift was a direct show of belief and support of the work of the Hope Foundation, and an INCREDIBLE help in the commencement of our pilot program "Hope On The Streets".
Our HOPE ON THE STREETS program is designed to meet the women we serve where they are. This monetary gift has been used to purchase a caravan fit to roam the streets of Brisbane City. It has been “HOPE-I-FIED” to create a sense of ‘welcome home’, acceptance and will provide an environment for women wanting a life change, to connect with the Hope Foundation.
We are EXCITED about the opportunity this program provides for extending our reach - to carry FREEDOM to our city. On October 21st, alongside the Lord Mayoress, Lisa Newman, our Hope On The Streets Caravan was launched in the city of Brisbane.
From mid-January, the HOPE ON THE STREETS van will be at the South City 7 Day Medical Centre, 39 Gladstone Road, Highgate Hill, from 10am-3pm. If you are interested in being part of this program, please email info@hopefoundation.org.au for further details.
'We want to go to the streets and have the opportunity to say "WELCOME HOME"....welcome in – we will love you right where you are at and tell you – and show you - that YOU ARE LOVED AND VALUED AND CREATED WITH A PURPOSE!' Bronwen Healy CEO Hope Foundation
We are always looking for volunteers to support ladies we meet along the journey, or to be part of our 'street team' to find out more about being involved or where 'Hope on the Streets' will be please contact us.
