farewell 2009 & welcome 2010...a new decade begins.

Tuesday 15th Dec 2009 12:00 AM

As we sit down to bring you an update for December 2009, Christmas is only just around the corner, the flowers are in bloom, the crowds are growing in the shopping centres and the new and adventurous year of 2010 is just over the horizon. It is shaping up to be an exciting year ahead as the Hope Foundation continues to grow beyond our expectations.

This is our opportunity to reflect with you on the year that was AND prepare our hearts and yours for the year that is coming.....

Reflection on 2009 highlights..

* opening of the 1st "HOPE home"

* Grant awarded by Lord Mayors Community Trust and purchase of caravan for pilot project, "HOPE on the streets". Outreaching & loving women by providing friendship, coffee, resources, prayer and LOVE : re-commencing January 2010.

* Valentines Day outreach and Christmas in July family lunch

* partnership with some incredible ministries to see our dreams of providing solid Christian teaching come to pass - including Bronwen's testimony featuring on Kenneth Copeland's 'Believers voice of victory' tv program & repeat screenings on 'Hour of Power'..

* in regular contact with between 10 and 20 women over the past 12 months many of whom are now living radically transformed lives

What our 2010 is starting to look like...

We have spent many months of 2009 producing our first ever creative package: a compilation CD featuring many local artists and many well-known & much-loved international artists including Chris Tomlin, Kathryn Scott and Shawn McDonald AND a book of short stories by women connected to HOPE Foundation.  Both will be titled "Her past is NOT her future" and will be released early 2010 - YOU will be the first to receive details, we promise!  (PS we have received a FULL gift to get 3,000 CD's produced BUT are needing to raise money for the book production....)

* a continuation of our annual outreach events; including Valentines Day & Christmas in July

* re-commencement of our 'HOPE on the streets outreach van -for which we are currently collecting pamper & beauty products to hand out to the women we meet - if you can help by donating any of these kind of products please let us know! info@hopefoundation.org.au

* our 1st ever women's retreat to be held in 2010....with much excitment and anticipation...

* continuing to bring hope, help and healing to the hurting women of this city & this nation through the core message, "you are loved, valued and created with a purpose"

We DO need you....

* like many not-for-profit organisations at this time of the year, we have needs. We are going to share with you the most obvious ones and, without any pressure, trust that somehow they will be met.

You see, we are the ones that get the honour of doing the life journey among these incredible women that get the opportunity through HOPE Foundation to KNOW that they are not alone as they journey out their freedom - - - you are the ones that get to help in other ways: whether that be prayer or finance - BOTH OF WHICH ARE VERY MUCH NEEDED! see www.hopefoundation.org.au for ways to "make a donation" or email back to this to join our monthly prayer team....

The obvious needs...

1. One of the incredible HOPE chicks has decided to lay to rest her precious daughters ashes. This has been a BIG decision on her journey of healing and one we want to support.  The plot and memorial plaque total is $970.

2. One of the other incredible chicks has just moved into her 1st FAMILY HOME with her 3 children, for the first time in 3 years they will all live together with smiles on their faces and hope for their futures.  She has been under our loving care for almost 2 years and we are honoured to share her journey.  The kids have just been accepted into Southside Christian College (NEW generational blood lines!!) and they need help with their uniform & book costs - total is $1,200 for all three kids.

3. The caravan NEEDS a generator - for it's air-con and stove (to bake cookies) and coffee machine!!!  The total cost is $1650 (with discount from caravan place)

4. The BOOK project requires attention!  the CD has been taken care of financially but the book editing, formatting and printing will cost approx $8,000 for 2,000 books - which will then be sold as awareness & fund raisers.....

5. Split-system air conditioning for the HOPE HOME, currently being lived in by 1 HOPE chick + 3 of her children. approx 5 degrees hotter than an average home most Brisbane summer days :) approx costing - $1,100 (or donation in kind gladly accepted!)

6. The general everyday running costs of a ministry like this one are fairly basic but fairly urgent in themselves....no details, just trusting that they will be met. Either via one-off gifts or monthly partnership

WOWED!

The HOPE team has shifted and changed and grown and morphed this year into an incredible team of willing, able and prayerful women that have chosen to say "YES" to the call of loving women back to life.

On behalf of the team of 2009/2010 we want to say THANK YOU FOR LOVING US AND BELIEVING IN US AND PRAYING FOR US as we seek to change the world one woman at a time.

Be blessed

love Bronwen & the HOPE team.
