End-of-financial year appeal

Thursday 16th Jun 2011 12:00 AM

Dear friends of Hope Foundation,

Well, what a radical year 2010/2011 financial year has been - not only for us here at Hope Foundation but globally. So much pain, heartache, tragedy and opportunity to respond. We know that from a personal level after the January Brisbane floods destroyed our 1st ever 'Hope Home' and we had to help one of our incredible women & her 3 children start from scratch.  We also know the incredible generosity - of encouragement, prayer and support and finances from so many of you!!

Here we are at the end of June and reflecting on the year that has been so far...

- Establishment of new Hope-assisted home for lady & her 3 children [bond fully covered and completely furnished & re-clothed]

- Lovely and powerful Valentines Day event held at Joseph Alexanders [fully sponsored for 35 women!]

- A very appreciative group of 12 (6 team + 6 Hope women) traveled to Sydney to attend Hillsong Colour Conference [accommodation and tickets sponsored!]

- A committed team are currently in contact with between 15 and 20 women most weeks, with very consistent growth meaning we have been contacted by 5 new women wanting support in the past week alone!

- Great media coverage for Hope Foundation, including national radio show 'Open House' and Bronwen appearing in the 'My story in my words' segment on Channel 10 on June 12th as seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXNb3K4Z4PQ

- Naomi [our core support worker] and I attending the International Christian Alliance on Prostitution Conference in Green Lake Wisconsin in May http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mtCQ650TQM

So, that is a brief overview of our year so far...

BUT we have a vision to see the second half of this year have us reaching even more women in even more efficient and effective ways. You might be able to help us to do that ?? Here is an outline of our dreams and goals...

1. We are in very obvious need of a public drop-in space for the women that we are currently reaching and those that are reaching out to us and we would love to see this space found and established within the next 6 months.  A sanctuary, a haven, a creative hub - a place where the women of Hope can come and find rest, peace, a meal and some company. A place that could also reach the wider community with our core message "You are loved, valued and created with a purpose". A place that we will call 'the lovewell'.  We are currently looking for a venue and to be able to commit to any lease we will require more monthly partnerships and some one-off gifts. If either of these interest you please respond via this email.

2. Reaching more women more efficiently and effectively is going to require more wages for more staff - this is not a 'project' as such, as far as fund-raising goes, but it is a practical current need and we are putting it forward for a purpose...we are wanting to keep you in the loop of the heartbeat of Hope.

3. In general monthly partnership - we would love you to consider this as a way of helping the Hope Foundation to continue to grow and move forward. It helps us to continue to dream, grow and thrive.  If you already partner with us - THANK YOU!!, if you are or have been considering it - we would ask that you pray about it and we look forward to hearing from you via reply email to this email!

ALL DONATIONS OVER $2 are tax-deductible and you can donate to Hope Foundation via direct deposit, cheque or PayPal through http://www.hopefoundation.org.au/donate

Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider it! We look forward to partnering with you in changing the world...one woman at a time.

Be blessed from

Bronwen, Naomi, Leonie and team.
